What does the term "balneotherapy" mean?

This term is now applied to everything that relates to spa treatment. It includes drinking waters, using hot baths as well as facials and mud baths. While the word originally referred to water treatment (drinking and bathing), it has expanded to include other spa services.

How are heated towels used in a spa?

Heated towels are small and moist and towels used as compresses to deepen muscle relaxation. They are also effective for wiping massage oil off. You should always be sure the temperature of the towels is not too hot by testing them against your hand before applying them against a client's body. Also, be sure to verbally check in with the client by asking if the compresses are too hot.

What is salt glow treatment?

Salt glow treatment is an exfoliation method that can be performed after a bath or massage. In order to prepare a salt glow treatment you need Dead Sea salts, massage oil, a Crockpot, and small hand towels. If you use this treatment for massage, be sure to perform the massage before the treatment. This insures that the massage does not feel gritty.
